Removing Ambers

Post by Manarius »

So, I'm thinking about removing my amber inserts this weeked (it's nice and all). I was also thinking, how about those white things behind the red plastic...I think vikash called them diffusers. Can I remove those too, or is that not a good idea?

I'm just thinking of what I can do while I have the cases off the car.

they are sealed to the sheet metal with butyl. you have to pry them off carefully. a little heat would help also.

You shouldn't remove the amber inserts; they play a role in forming the beam pattern of the turn signals.

Take the backing off the sedan tails, from inside the trunk. Use needlenose pliers and just pull and tweak the orange piece untill you coherse it out of there. Takes no longer then 5 mins. I find this a no safety hazard, you will need orange bulbs though, cause the stock ones are white. Or do like me and get BRIGHT red ones JDM all the way

I sweat a bucket coercing those things out. They will frustrate you but don't give up! I found that a heat gun helps.
