Painting the front grill emblem

Post by Splinter »

I know quite a few people have done this. How did you remove the clear plastic cover from it?

If its anything like the steering wheel emblem. Its just painted on the back of the clear piece, and the stars are imbeded. You just sand the back, try to sand as flat as possible, you dont wanna knick the silver of the stars. Then just paint right over the whole back. If it IS different from the steering wheel emblem....disregard what i just said.

It looks like its two seperate pieces, there's a slight line between the clear part and the black part

It could be painted though.

The slight line, is the indentation of the silver border line, I THINK. you sand ALL of the black off then just paint over the stars, once you start sanding youll understand.
