Check out what was on campus today

Some marketing class was doing a project on Subaru, and they had a thing going on today at the center of campus. In addition to the ESX cars, most of the drag racing team was there, they had a rock climbing wall, Ivan the Ironman Stewart's super offroad arcade games, and a WRX, STi, and OBS. They also had free food and drawings to win stuff and some other free shit.

I talked to the ESX team manager about the race car and Julie for awhile and also got her autograph (OMG OMG!). Ali Afshar was also there.

Free stuff:

Maybe I should throw out the beer bottles from last week.

Also there's a copy of import tuner buried in there

Gary Sheehan drives the Time-Attack car that is serviced by the shop I work at.

He's good. Lightweighter too.

ESX does pretty well for not putting together their own cars.

HA!

Some local college up here had some Subaru related "class" as well. I don't know exactly what the heck they are peddleing, but basically it has to do with marketing somehow. Not that I blame them, why not let both sides get some benefit? Student and benifactor?

But!!!!

Stupid kids who were either working or studying for this "class" walked right by my wagon and the SVX. HAD NO CLUE that subarus existed before the WRX!

Vent off....

the students putting it on definitely didn't know much about the cars. Most of the people going to it don't either, so I guess it works out.

Having the ESX team there to answer questions about the cars and sign autographs and the like I think took care of the enthusiasts.

Wow, all I usually see on campus are the LaRouche nuts.

But there's also the occasional lecturer like the guy who made the doors on the Murcielago.

Laurel the red car you're probably thinking of is Pat and Natalie Richard's rally car. This one was put together in the last month or so and is a road racing car.

Time Attack is like a short track or autocross against the clock, no wheel-to-wheel.
Doesn't have to do with drifting or mountain highways to the best of my knowledge.
