Lightweight flywheels

Hey, you guys that have them, did your car idle funny for a while after you put them in? Specifically at stop lights and just sitting idle?
My car idles pretty solid at 750 rpms, but randomly and without much reason it will drop to 650 or even 575 for a second. It will lope down there for a short time and then pop back up again. Is this something I should expect and just realize the ecu will learn around it eventually?

Both mine, Exedy, acted completely normal on the 93 Turbo and the 00. IF you haven't already, try resetting the ECU, maybe some sensor is confused. I had a similar problem after an engine wash, and a CEL, but an ECU reset cleared up both the CEL and funny idle.

Hmm. Well I'm not throwing any codes. I had a knock sensor issue, but I fixed that already, and yes, I do believe the ecu reset. At least I think it did.

Are you sure?
The tach doesnt go that low.

Mine still idles at around 650-750 after the lightweight flywheel. The tach actually reads as it being lower than it really is.

I got my numbers from the vrg3 scan tool.
I'll have to check the plugs and make sure they are gapped and in tight enough. I'm betting it is a fuel issue, and it could be that the plugs aren't grounding well enough.

Mine idled a little funky, but I attribute that to other things. If I ever get around to installing that new IAC valve I got from Phil, I'm hoping my idle issues will go away.

IAC valve. You know, that could be a contributing factor as well, but I would figure that would be more of an idle going too high and dropping back. This is the opposite.

Well, just as a reference, my 00 2.5 with current mods idles at around 700, by the tach, which should be pretty accurate in this newer car.

yeah, for future reference those of us using the stock rpm gauge - the second lowest most marker is the 500rpm mark (the one nearest the bottom marker)
stall speed on our engines is somewhere around 300-400 rpms

Ok, I'm moving my dicussion to another topic since i don't think it is related to the lightweight flywheel.
I've moved it to this post here:
