My new wheels

Post by jnorion »

I picked these up in Seattle on Sunday from The Scooby. They are Enkei 15"s, I don't know what model (if anyone recognizes them let me know). The tires are Yokohama Avid Touring tires, 195/60/R15. The wheels are in good but not perfect condition, with a few scratches here and there and a little curb rash on one. The tires are used but just barely. I spent $175 on the package of all four.

I installed them on Sunday but had to go out of town for the past two days for work, on a 400-mile road trip, so I got to test them out but did not have a chance to wash the car. Compared to the stock wheel/tire combo they are amazing. The ride is smoother and quieter, the handling is infinitely better (the previous tires were 175s), it looks much better, and for some unknown reason the brakes stopped squeaking. The only drawback is that they are noticeably heavier than the old wheels, and so acceleration is slightly worse.

I got a pretty good backdrop for my pictures:

Here's the good side of the car:

Check out the grip on those babies:

Mmmmm.

Car looks good, wheels look good, road looks good.

Isn't it great how improving your tires makes your whole car work better?

I like those wheels, and considered making a deal on them. I wouldn't mind being able to run 15" in the winter, but they wouldn't clear my WRX brakes.

Nice! realy looks good on your car!

I love that style. been hoping to stumble across a set of 16s in that style but dont realy know what to look for.

I have the same problem with the front wheel gap. think it comes from the struts having different spring mounts. if you dont get the struts for the right year you end up looking at sky
