Trunk Release issues

Post by smh0101 »

Hey when I pull on the trunk release from the drivers seat the trunk unlaches but I have to pull on the spoiler to get it to fully disengage and pop up. Sometimes it will make a pop like it unlatched but when I pull on it doesnt budge. Has anybody had this problem or know how to fix it?:?

Thx
Spencer

Sounds like the latch may need adjusting. You might want to lube it and see what happens. It sounds like the cable actuator works, but that the latch does not release all the way fully all the time.

also, it may be the rubber seal sticking to the trunk lid.

My dad's Taurus does this, and it annoys the snot out of me.

The cable is probably just coming loose.
