i just got my exhaust installed. i had bought a 3 inch catback system for a WRX off of ebay. for some reason, they said the axleback section would not fit quite right. they removed my stock exhaust and tried to see if it would fit, but it seemed that to make it fit, it would have to have longer hangers. i didnt want it to hang so damn low so they made a new axleback section for me. it seems that the bend in the axle back section wasnt long enough.
all in all, i so far like it. i have the silencer in it, and after hearing it soooooooo quiet, i like it better than the open downpipe i was running. im gonna take out the silencer and see how it sounds. for some reason, the car felt so much more fun and refreshing to drive. probably because i had been running that open downpipe for about 8 months.
total cost:
WRX catback system - about $180 from Ebay.
installation with hi flow cat, and new axle back section - about $335.
i say it was worth it. it is so sleeper now besides the huge muffler in the back.
Just Installed: hi flow cat, 3" WRX catback

i took the silencer out and it still does not seem loud at all. even with wide open throttle. i like how its a lot more quiet. i think it sounds great.
on another note, with the silencer, it seemed to have better torque starting off, than running open downpipe, and even without the silencer. i guess thats cuz of the back pressure.
