now with more braking power

Post by The Scooby »

got some WRX front brakes for $50 the other day, came with rotors, new pads, calipers, brackets, lines and all the hardware. bolted them up and man does my car stop sooooo much faster. i love it, it probably also helped that i flushed the brakes with new fluid, and man does the brake pedal feel great now.

That's a great price. You'd like the feel even better with SS lines, if you don't already have them.

are the rear brakes stock?

Because I'd think that's a bit too much front bias.

Good deal though, mine were like $100 and didn't come with rotors.

ya SS lines will come after i fix my drivability problem i have.

also ya the brakes are stock and i have went out and drove them hard, no pedal fade and i have yet to lock up the rears... even braking into the entrance of the corner, after that the rears broke loose with HP and had some fun sliding her around.

I autocrossed my TW with WRX fronts and stock rears for some time and felt that it was a very good upgrade, especially with decent tires. We're not talking about an STI upgrade here, just .4" extra diameter and more heatsink capacity, which is always a bonus.

As a comparison, my 00 came from SIA with 10.7" fronts...and 11.3" rears. I've rectified that since.

I'm going to be doing this upgrade as soon as the parts come in the mail.

1 question:
Is it necessary to remove the front dust shield(s) when upgrading to the 02-05 wrx setup on a 91 N/A wagon.

just trying to prepare myself for the work to be done.

No you don't have to touch the dust shields.
