I F'd up. Bad

Post by wiscon_mark »

First time eBay purchase. the only one I've ever made.

Fidanza short throw shifter, seems like a good price, Fidanza has a name, and it advertised for the 93-95 Subaru tranny (Impreza & Legacy).

Here's the item

So I get the shifter today. Looks pretty nice, i'm excited. So excited that I go and rip out the stock one, and the ball on the end of the shifter (the other end, not the end you put your hand on) breaks on the way out.

So I put the shifter in, and realize that it doesn't fit my car. WTF?!

There's no fork, like the stock one. It looks like the one for the 97+ subarus. I should've realized this before I messed my stock one up.

I'm so F**ked.

What should I do?

Obviously, I'm going to contact the guy and ask him if he sent me the wrong one, and if I can get my money back.

In the meantime, I can't pull up on my shifter, otherwise it might come out of its socket. :(

*argh!*

note: If I can't get my money back, there's a Fidanza short throw shifter for a 97+ Legacy F/S brand new.

And I need a stock shifter ASAP. It's apparently the same as the 93 and 94 Legacys.

He owes you your money or a new shifter. If he doesn't agree to that, get paypal on his ass. That's mislabelled advertising, which is a punishable offense on ebay.

thing is, I don't think Fidanza makes a shifter for 93-95 Legacys...I looked at their website (after the fact, stupidly) and they don't list the car or the part # given.

So I'll have to get my money back. Farkers.

Weak. That's some bullshit. The item's back up for sale, so this guy must sell quite a few of these as 93-95 Legacy/Impreza shifters. Wow.

yeah, he's not the only vendor. I've seen some others as well.

A guy on Nasioc is sending me his stock shifter linkage from a 96 Impreza.

Now I have to see what I can do about that god darn short throw.
