At least you know they didn't leave out the steel belts when the tires were made.

you guys should of seen the first set of RE92's I trashed. they werent quite as bald as those, but the 8" long flatspots showing cord were not the safest methinks. locking em up at 130 will do that, I was completely WFO going down I90 west above north bend, hardly anyone on the road, some retard in the middle lane just randomly changes to the left lane about 70ft in front of me for NO REASON.

The set of Sumitomos I took off several years ago had broken metal strands sticking out through slits going under the very bald tread. I get my money's worth.

Hahaha, yeah, they were pretty shot.

These tires are the major reason for the damage thread. Going fast, downhill, trying to avoid a head on collision with two seperate vehicles, through a crazy, banked, downhill chicane. I was able to correct twice but the 3rd one was very sharp and I just pushed right on through and into the embankment. It was that or flying off a mountainside into the woods.

It was a pretty fine piece of driving just to keep from killing myself or others though I must say. Probably one of the closest calls I've ever had. This road I was on is very unforgiving with no guard rails and big drops into steep woods. Phil and Vikash have been on it and can attest to how crazy it is, especially going down. I was a dumb ass to even be on it with my tires in the shape they were in but when people start breaking out the cameras, it's hard to resist.

Matt, what road is it? Is it the road going up the mountain leaving Williamsport after you cross over the river?

No. It's a road north of Williamsport in a little town called Trout Run. It's called the Rose Valley Hillclimb. The SCCA holds a sanctioned race up it every year but it's a public road.

Here's an in car vid of racer taking it uphill. The chicane part just before the second major hair pin ( this is the hair pin that I posted a video of me taking at night) is where my accident happened. Remember, I was going down, instead of up, and it was at night.

Yeah, it's sick. That video makes the turns seem like they're not as severe as they really are. It's super squirelly. Well, that and when the road is open you can't cut the turns and use the whole road the way Fabio is in the vid.
