Refurbished wheels & new rubber

Post by Legacy777 »

I got my rims back yesterday. I had the road rash that occurred over the past 9 years repaired. They also had to straighten two of the rims.

The shop did a good job, and the cost wasn't too bad, $400 for everything.

They polished & clearcoated the previous machined aluminum portions, and the silver is just a hair darker then the before. The wheels look good, but I need to seem them in daylight on the car to really compare things.

I think the machined look gives things a slightly more agressive look...but I don't know.

I also got new GS-D3's. They'll come out to be less then $100 per tire with goodyear's rebate program. I bumped up the size to 205/50 r16 from 205/45 r16. The 205/50 is a tad wider, so I will have to make sure I don't have any rubbing in the rear. Just looking at things, the wheel is slightly further out then the fender lip. However when the wheel goes up it should arc inwards.

*Drool* They look nice mounted and your car is still just so immaculate. Keep up the good work ;).

It looks like you've upgraded the rear brakes, are you running the H6's or the LGT's?

They're actually the JDM legacy rear vented brakes, which is the same as the new LGT rear brakes.

I got mine before the 05 LGT came to the states....

Lookin' sharp.

I may get that done to my RS alloys eventually, but before that: I paint them silver.
