please help me diagnose window...

this is for my 95 BD sedan.

i bought my legacy with a non working driver side window. while the car is not being driven because of the ongoing body work, i decided to take a look and here is what i found:

the motor works, but the pinion is grinding on the window track and isnt close enough to actually catch the teeth.

i got them to actually grab together but.... the motor has such a hard time trying to push the window up that is actually flexes the inner door structure out about 2 inches(towards the interior of the car).

when both the window and the motor are connected, the window will get to about 3 inches before is makes a seal with the rubber molding and it will pop off track again.

any help with this is greatly appreciated.
