1st id like to say that this site rocks, im new to this site but not to subarus NA. I just got my 1st Legacy Turbo about 2mos ago and have a few questions and concerns about it, and this site seems like the site to be asking questions so here goes.
1st: Its a '91 Legacy Turbo AWD Automatic w/ LSD
2nd: I was wondering what type of things i should do to check out this car and make sure every thing is running and spooling properly.
The guy i bought the car off of said it was maintained by subaru and had a huge stack of reciepts to go with it which is well and good but a few things have happend since i have gotten the car. The 1st thing i noticed is that the ABS light will come on some time and i can here what i think is the ABS making noise, then about 2weeks ago i had taken a trip to the shore and my
Check Engine light flashed on then back off, so that makes me a little concerned. I am also wondering how loud my turbo should sound, i mean i can here it spooling and all but a friend of mine that had a 5speed turbo sounded way way juicier than my car sounds, his had a noticable "Whooosh" sound and mine has more of a "Whisle" to it, both cars are stock everything the only difference is that his is 5-speed and mine is auto. Do they sound different when they spool up? Or is my turbo on its way out? I was also wondering if any one could give me some pointers on "Modding" my car, like i said im used to the NA subies this turbo stuff is all new to me. So any help will be greatly apprciated. I want to get the most out of this car i can if anyone needs any specs on the car just ask.Thank You Again
