Do WRX Front and rear rotors fit?

Post by livestrong14 »

I am looking to get parts locally. Are there any major brake company's that nake brakes for the 91' SS? Do WRX front and rear rotos fit? I imagine those would be easier to find with mainstream brake comany's.

wrx front rotors are bigger. 02-05 wrx rear rotors are narrower, 06 wrx rear rotors are bigger. nothing fits without switching everything else.

Maybe check tirerack?

you mean caliper with the rotor right? would they fit under the 02-05 wrx wheel with the same year caliper and rotors?

If you wanted to swap the whole brake setup from a WRX, the 06 4-piston front calipers don't quite fit under 02-05 wheels. They do work with 98-01 RS wheels though. Those front calipers bolt directly to the spindle, and the rotors are the same size as the 02-05 (almost*). Rear 2-pots don't bolt up directly.

4-pots with turbo rears provides a great brake bias.

If you wanted to use WRX rotors, you'd need the calipers and brackets and 16" wheels. Rear 02-05 WRX brakes are the same diameter as our brakes but not vented and would also require new calipers and brackets.

*I hear the rotors for the 4 pot are actually 4mm bigger in diameter

Anyway this is getting a bit off track and what I said has been covered many times. WRX rotors are not compatible with turbo brakes.

Just for clarification.....to the original poster, were you referring to the 02-05 WRX brakes or 06 WRX brakes?
