Mod bug proof.

Post by BAC5.2 »

I got the Forester as a daily driver. I said I wouldn't mod it.

I just put a 22mm rear sway bar on it, and I was able to justify it to myself (reduced body roll, and I don't care about stock strut life).

I've got a bunch of mods planned too. Wild. The mod bug hath bitten. This time, though, I won't let it destroy my daily driver...

I guess I chose the right field. I always feel like I could improve something.

This is the approach I've taken with the 2005GT . . . which is why I've got the 94GT to play with. ;)

Why I bought the Mazda - a car I can enjoy driving every day, but wouldn't love enough to mod and is limited by what I could realistically do to it. Yeah, I could convert to AWD using Volvo S40/V50 parts, maybe go T5 with a 6-speed or Mazdaspeed 2.3, but that would cost more than the Elise/Khamsin/T-Rex I'd much rather have.

Well, I haven't modded my Legacy that much... but I couldn't help making it perform a little better.

Funny that my daily driver has the most performance potential of any of my cars

Not sure. It still needs to be perfectly safe and streetable, so that's the goal. But I DO have a few ideas churning in my noggin.

Just make improvments over stock, not crazy power mods.

Bushing the crap out of it.

Steering, Tranny, suspension, differential. The works.

Did you ever get that 3.9 FD tranny to put in it?

That's why I drive my Fox for a daily driver. Lately I've been getting 2 weeks out of a tank of gas. The only modding I have planned for it is an oil change, maybe some plugs. F*ck the broken speedo and missing exhaust. That's money I could put into the 'roo!
