Fuel Injector Upgrade

Anyone know how much HP the stock injectors can handle before they exceed 80% of their duty cycle? I'm aiming at ~300 crank hp, with a TD05. If I need new ones Any suggestions, are SVX ones good for this type of power?

Thanks,
Mark

Hehe, sounds like you're going the route that Adam took with his (I mean my, hehe) turbo legacy . . . it's even the same color!!

Anyways, Adam set up the car with all the parts in my sig, and told me that 1bar was probably the max boost I could run before upgrading the injectors. I believe he had a source for aftermarket injectors, too. You might want to get in touch with him about this.

Not sure how much horsepower this thing's putting out but I was told ~250-260hp.

Does your TD05 have the large 16g or small 16g compressor?
15 pounds on either one is is still way more cfm than a stock IHI RHB5, so thats pretty good, actually really good. And your having no lean run problems, you say?

I'm not sure which compressor the turbo's running, but it's off of an STi model. I believe those may have used the smaller compressor wheel, but don't quote me on that.

As for lean-run conditions, I'll be able to let you know more after I get it dynoed and hooked up to a wideband O2 sensor sometime next month.

I haven't been able to detect any knocking whatsoever from the engine, FWIW.

I have been running 1,1 bar boost for over 4 years now and no problems with the injectors.

You're on the right path with the air-fuel meter. If the mixture keeps rich enought on high pressures & workloads, the you have no problems. Remember to get the injectors cleaned every now & then. They do it with ultrasound these days. Costs you about $ 100 for all injectors.

teesaa, I am under the assuption that you have a 2.0L turbo engine whereas the US got the 2.2L . . . do you know if the engines have the same size injectors?

I am pretty sure the 2.2t motors got smaller injectors. Someone else can confirm the numbers, but I think the 2.2t motor got like 270cc injectors......I think.....am probably wrong though....

The 2.2T got the 370cc pink injectors. The N/A's got the 260cc ones.

Will the 420cc WRX injectors fit?

Igg, adam @ z1auto told me that wrx 420cc injectors won't fit cause they are top feed, and our injectors are side feed. the older 93-96 wrx injectors will fit and they are 440cc.
our stock injectors are somewhere between 360-380cc.

Legacyt, your goal is the same as mine. i recommend walbro fuel pump and some bigger injectors (not sure which ones yet).

parallel fuel mod and a better fpr would probably help too. :o

I have a 94 jdm wrx ej20 in my legacy turbo and it has top feed 440cc injectors. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase a new set of 94 wrx 440cc injectors?
Thanks

I have some top feed RS fuel rails that i could use (NO idea if they would fit) and are already set up for parallel... I guess i'll just get injectors and try it out

After thinking about boostjunkie's setup and people on the rsliberty site, I don't think many of us are in need of bigger injectors.

search e-bay for places that are selling JDM used parts from Japan. they usually have access to junkyards or their japanese equivalent. You can get 93-96 Sti injectors or the appropriate Blitzen injectors, both 440 i do believe. Side feed is the key.
