Apparantly you didn't watch any of the x-games. McRae rolling it on the superspecial and then taking off the second the wheels touched the ground was amazing. If not for that (and problems earlier in the rally) he would have beat Pastrana.
And he's not a rally cross driver, he's an actual rally car driver, and won the X-games and Rim of the World rally.. That crash footage you're talking about is also on the vermont sports cars website.
I met Pastrana and Edstrom at Rim. Christian actually posts a lot on nasioc.
Oh, and while searching for the x games footage of McRae which is here, I found this kickass video and the first half is in a Legacy.

Yeah, I always thought Pastrana was only a dirt bike rider and here he is a Rallyer as well....totally kick ass.
