aftermarket radiator

Post by The Scooby »

ok does anyone know if koyo makes a radiator with aluminum end tanks for an auto T-lego? or any other company for that matter, i have to replace my rad, it broke like everyone elses. ive rear the thread but those are factory replacements, i would rather spend the money and get a aluminum one and say screw it and not have to worry about it.

Thanks,
shean

I don't think so, unfortunately.

I was looking for one when mine broke, but just ended up getting an Advance Auto Parts one.

Nope, they make OE replacement ones. If you know a guy that can tig weld aluminum, you could try buying one for an impreza and adapting the top so it clears the hood.

John Cox had a koyo radiator mounted in his legacy turbo a couple years ago but he said it was work to adapt.

The price for a new factory rad was over C$800. in Vancouver.

Koyo has an aluminum rad for the T Leg and had a tank with a tranny heat exchanger installed on the drivers side.

Koyo was 400 and the 4eat cooler build was about 250.

i said screw it and bought a OE replacement yesterday, then had my girlfriend pick me up, i drove halfway home before getting rearended on the freeway at about 30mph by some dumb punk 17year old that was driving in the carpool lane and he was the only one in the car.

oh well ive already got offers from his insurance company for $25k plus any kind of lost wages for one year, plus all doctors visits are paid for. that was offered to me and same for my girlfriend, but i told them that i would have to talk with my lawyer first. this sucks, her nice integra is now totalled...

?? Looking at their website, the only Subaru radiator they had listed was for the GC Imprezas......

Edit: after a bit more looking around, I found one for the t-legs. The part number is r1819.

I just wish I could find one when my radiator broke.... :(

i just might have to bring out the beast... my 78' chevy truck with 510whp, i just hope it doesn't rain if i have to...

to compensate for the lack of the tranny cooler for the auto, you could just pick up a small truck tranny cooler from just about any auto parts store.

That's what I was considering when looking before.

I am sooo getting one of those radiators!
