'02 WRX Wheels and tires

Post by wayneswirld2 »

I'm new at the Subaru thing. That being said, I've got a chance to buy some '02 WRX wheels with 225/50vr16 tires on 'em. I'm wonder if they will fit under my '90 Legacy wagon.

Any ideas/suggestions/comments are certainly welcomed......

like every other person on this forum has those wheels/tires including myself. I had no problems, but that said there is still a slight chance they will rub on the fenders or not clear the spring perches.

Here's what I did....the tires we just too fat to clear the bottom of the struts on the rear, so I opted for different tires. 205/55R16 did the trick. I little tight, but the car looks less like a grocery getter now.....

oh actually I skimmed over the 225/50 and for some reason replaced it with 205. I think one person (bac5.2) has 225s that fit, and a few other people have tried. My struts have more clearance than a stock strut so I would probably be able to fit them.

I'll be looking into new struts in the next week or so. I'd like to drop the ride height a little while I'm at it, any sugestions??
