which gear do i need?
i am getting ready to do the auto to 5mt swap. i'm not sure what rear diff i need. the 5mt is out of a 02or03 wrx. my car is auto with 3.90. i think the 5mt has a ratio of 1.100. so would i need a rear diff with a 3.545? and do i need front and rear axels?
Yeah you'll need a rear diff with a 3.545 ratio.
I'm not sure about the axles, but yeah I think the newer axles, at least in the rear use a female connection instead of male.

If the 5-speed is out of an 02-03 WRX your stock axles will work, but you need a 3.545 ring and pinion, or 1:1 transfer gears from an RS. The ring and pinion or diff is easier.
