F'ing 4EAT..

Post by magnux »

A month or so ago, I noticed that the transmission didn't like to shift into gear right away when put into "D" first thing in the morning. It would take 3-4 seconds before it finally engaged. I noticed, however, that if I dropped it in to "1" instead, it would engage immediately. Later on though, after things had warmed up -- everything was fine.

So, after driving for a couple weeks, I get in the car yesterday to drive off -- I drop it in "1" and take off, then shift to "2" and, uh oh! The gear disengages and I'm just throwing RPM's. So, I try "3" -- same thing. So I had to drop it back down into "1" and drive home doing 20mph @ 3000RPM. What fun.

I'll be taking the shotgun out and putting 'er down shortly..

Checked/topped off the fluid lately? My tranny does the same thing when my fluid starts to get low, just not as bad.

Just my experiences.

Yea, I had hoped that's all it was. Everything's filled to spec with Redline. :(
