Question on how to sell wheels

Post by magicmike »

Are people more likey to buy wheels with or without tires on them?

I'm going to be selling the konig's from this post http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=28457 but I'm not sure if I should try to sell with or without the tires. I could use the tires for the winter on a different set of wheels but my question is, would that make it harder to sell the wheels? This isn't a post to actually sell the wheels and tires its for information so I didn't post it in the Parts Shed.

Simple, local only sale with tires...Willing to box and ship sale, without tires...

I vote with tires because I live a great market with lots of option to buy stuff and pick it up...otherwords I feel for folks outside of the mecca for Subarus that is Seattle...

Good luck with the sale!

If you don't want the tires, offer them with the wheels. With the wheels I've purchased, it's the tires that have pushed the deal over to the plus column. I have found good value in purchasing wheels for what I think they are worth, and getting several thousand (or more) "free" miles out of the tires. Also, it's easy to ship wheels with tires mounted, you don't really even need boxes. Wheels without tires certainly need boxes.
