does anyone know the part number for whiteline steering rack bushings for a 92 turbo legacy sedan? I assume they are the same part as the 93-01 impreza. or the superpro bushings too. i just want some steering rack bushings for the t-leg and can't find legacy specific ones anywhere.
The Superpro 30mm Subaru Steering rack bushing is SPF1972K. Kastle's corner is clearing them out for pretty cheap. Check it.
Josh, not sure if you remember what the Whitelines were like but I'd heard the Superpro were identical but cost less. I recently bought a set of the Superpros (blue) and I'm surprised that they are for lack of a better word, 'rubbery'...do you remember if the whiteline were maliable, soft? I've bought other (yellow) whiteline bushings and they've all been rock hard. Maybe you don't want that in a steering rack bushing. I guess not too good to transmit road noise etc. through the steering column...But wondering if there really isn't any diff between the two...
Also, I'm going to do this regardless but is this a noticeable mod? My current bushings are not worn out and my wheel turn is fairly crisp already...
Superpro supposedly makes whiteline's bushings....or so that's what I've heard.
As for the whitelines being rubbery. I don't think I'd say they were rubbery. They weren't rock hard due to the thickness of the bushing.
As for being noticable, yes they were noticable. It wasn't dramatic like changing steering rack ratios, but it was noticable, and worth the cost. I will say though, they are a pain to install. Probably more so on our cars compared to the newer ones because our cars use bent metal lines compared to the newer racks that use rubber tubing.
