Added the AWIC expansion tank

Post by Legacy777 »

Here's pics of where I installed the tank. The nice thing is there is a threaded bolt hole where the air suspension components would go behind the strut tower, so mounting it was a snap.

What is that expansion tank supposed to do? I just removed mine, because I didn't have room and didn't think it was worth trying to fit it somewhere. Should I try and do what you did? Is it basically like a radiator overflow bottle?

Yup, similar to the radiator overflow bottle.

I was pretty consistently having to add water to the system, and that is the only place I could see where it might be leaking out when the system pressurized.

I don't know what the AWIC cap is set to.

I just drove a little more then 400 miles this past weekend, so I need to check the level, and see if it's gone down, or if it's still full.

I would say if your level is fine, and doesn't appear to be going down, you should be able to leave off the expansion tank.
