Installing RRFPR on turboed n/a

Post by gto7419 »

Ok, I have three lines out of the vortech unit. The top one is vacuum - not a problem. Which of the bottom two is the "in" and which is the "out".

Where along the fuel lines should I install the in and out?

I would really like to either see where to install the lines in pics, but, I couldnt refuse any help if someone wanted to come out here and do it with me. :-D

I also have a wrx fp Im going to install. Considering this is a wagon, the fuel pump is under the rear pass seat - correct? How do I relieve the fuel pressure in the lines other than just opening the tank cap - or is that all I have to do?

Thanks, Danny

Anyway, I got it done, and the motor seems to be running much better at upper rpms. I feel like Im still getting some detonation though - especially in 5th gear just when boost starts to hit.

I cant really push in 5th at all or Ill get some smoke out the back.
(The motor is weak and and needs rings.)

Im building a new motor soon anyway, but I would like to get this sorted, so I can carry the setup over to the new motor and learn from my mistakes...

You could just be running stupid rich. Do you have a air/fuel ratio guage and a wideband O2 sensor installed?

I dont - its on my list of things for my new motor.

In an update, the motor seems to like the new rrfpr and the car runs infinately better when on boost. Right before it hits boost however, it gets a small hiccup... It did this before and its not very apparent so it doesnt really bother me that much.
