I've decided to buy an entire ej25 for $500, along with whatever ej22 n/a motor I get. I can sell the leftover parts and hopefully get some of my money back. Plus, I will be able to scavange all the parts I need and wont have to search desperately for anything.
HERES the magic question;
While I have the motors apart, why not open up both short blocks, replace all bearings, and install the ej25 crank/rods into my hybrid ej22 n/a block with ej25 heads?
With ej22t pistons, ej22t headgasket, the ej25 dohc heads, ej25 crank, and ej25 rods in an ej22 n/a - what compression ratios would I be looking at?
(whoever can answer this gets a cookie

It seems that just running the ej22t pistons with 2.5 dohc heads lowers the compression a whole lot, and that using the ej25 crank would up the compression some and make the motor happier while not under boost, while still having a low enough compression to run 12-14psi from my volvo T3.
Hope this all makes sense...
edit - how will my stock ecu respond to all of this? Can I get away with it if I use an msd boost timing retard along with an rrfpr?
