Pretty much any information you could want is on this forum, spend a little time reading old threads and doing some searching.

We're glad to have you here, but we're not going to spoon-feed you instructions. No one makes anything for our cars. It's all home-brewed or adapted from other subarus.

LMAO! - thats going to go down in history as my favorite douglasvincent post.

Bolt on turbo - no (or atleast its not that easy to get it right)
Bolt on engine - yes!

Easiest thing to do is to find a EJ22T and swap it in. Its pretty straight forward and there are a lot of threads on the bbs that have good information.

To do the swap you need to get:

-EJ22T - this is the turbo block from the bc/bf legacy
-the front crossmember for the EJ22T
-The EJ22T ECU
-Fuel pump from the EJ22T
-Up pipe/down pipe (lets just say the entire exhaust)
-The passenger side strut tower electronics (there's three sensors over there that you need) - You also need to build a very simple wire harness for these sensors if you don't get the EJ22T wire harness.

You can probably post for all these things in the parts shed here. Might take a while to find what you want. I looked for about 3-4 months before I found a good block (90K mile roll over).

All in all I think I spent about $1000-$1500 on the entire swap. The days of doing it much cheaper are pretty much gone.

I had my Turbo block installed and running in about 2 days working by myself with all the right tools. Really easy and quick horsepower if you ask me. I used an accelerometer to measure hp. With the FWD stock I got about 103 HP to the wheels. With the turbo block I get almost 140 HP to the wheels (and a lot of tire hop and spin - atleast I have a car that old people can watch go by their house and bitch about again).

I do however speak for the entire board when I say that if you find a Legacy Sport that is in perfect running order to take the engine out of...we will find you and hurt you! Find one thats already out of the car or wrecked.

If I could get one of those for $39, I'd probably build a GixxerKartKiller.
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.
