Maybe it would look a little nicer if you did something to the edges. It does scream "I took a dremel to my bumper". Maybe round the corners or put some kind of edge trim on it.

Then again, I do respect function over beauty. Sure looks big enough.

I think that looks pretty sweet. But you might want some kind of mesh grill. Is it flush with the bumper or is it inset a little?

You'll be liking mesh grills a lot more after you realize how many little pebbles and sh*t hit your intercooler and bend the fins.

Granted, it is a bit higher than most front mounts, its right there in the open and still damn vulnerable. It may look "Rice" but its functional. Its not mesh on a body kit, its mesh covering a badass front mount intercooler.

this intercooler was dropped on the freeway last year, the back side of it looks like shit, but i straighten out most of the fins, so it still flows nicely. plus its not that expensive. i dont mind much about little dents haha.

Hey i got an idea, (says the following with tongue in cheek) get some stencils and spray a "euro style" plate onto it. People wont even know its an IC! But really, good for you, cant wait to go front mount, still havnt even installed the TMIC yet! What portions of the front frame supports (if any) did you need to cut away to rout the piping?

i just took at a 3 inch hole saw, made one hole 3 inches from the end of the bumper beam, and same on the otherside. then one small hole just under where the original battery mount used to be. thats it. other than that i used all existing holes in the body. oh yea and now i dont have any foam in my bumper..

Looks kind of ghetto, but as long as it works, it's all gravy.

I would have tried not to cut the actual face of the bumper. When I installed the front mount on my old car, I didn't cut the bumper surface at all.

The decrease in airflow is almost nonexistant.

as far as airflow. i was worried at first that it wouldnt flow very well....so i did open up the backside more, i drilled a ton of holes on the back side of the beam. just so i could get more air to pass on through.

and yea i guess the consensious is that its pretty ghetto. But it works well....

I think it would be pretty awesome for track use, but its not very protected.

Is the bumper beam aluminum or steel? If it's steel I'd just cut it out and weld 2 supports at the top and bottom.

What if you painted stripes across it to match the bumper? That way you couldn't tell it was there until you got close.
