Intake boxes

Post by wallgood358 »

I have desnorked my 92 Legacy Sport and am looking to do a little more for the intake. Plan to get a free flowing panel filter, but also want to straighten out the intake so it flows smoother. I am looking for what years and models of subaru's i can get an intake box that has the maf coming out of the back and not the side so i can eliminate the 90 degree elbow and possibly the resonator box. And also along with that, are there any advantages to an otherwise stock turbo car, in upgrading the fuel pump and adding an adjustable fpr?

My 97 impreza outback sport has the straight airbox. However it does not have the velocity stack, which IMO is better to have. If you can remove it and put it on the straight box, that'd probably be good.

If you're not really upping the boost, I'd leave your fuel system alone.

I know SVX's have the air box of which you speak.

You don't need to start playing with fuel until around 15 psi...and if you are running that on a stock turbo, that is way out of its efficiency range.
