WTB: portion of '92 SS center console.

Post by shemoves »

I am looking for the smaller piece that goes under the ashtray. It has a velvety type 'sticker' on it. Rear portion surrounds the shift lever. Not sure if different colors were available, but mine is grey.

*for a little 'custom install' I wanna try :D

I've had a few people try to help me out, but they all have had the light grey pieces. So, I am still looking.

center console

Well mine is the 91 grey color interior so I believe that it will be the same as the others. I believe that you would need the center console from a Canadian model that does not have the air bag controller

My 1992 SS had a slightly darker grey interior than my 1991 SS. So I would recomend trying to find a '92+ piece before settling for less.

It's definitely dark. You can see in the shot above that it is not fully "black," but I am wondering if they consider that black since it is plastic.

As for the turboed cars, the 91 was light gray, the 92 was dark gray (charcoal?) and the 93-94's were black. That is how they are in my cars, were there any exceptions?
<<<EDIT>>> I just looked at a 93 with the light gray interior, maybe in 93/94 the buyer had a choise?

without comparing side to side i would say this color looks very close to the "black" in my 93 and 94 USDM touring wagons. it is very much not the same as the USDM 91 SS grey color interior pieces I have.

I have noted that the Canadian model A and B pillar trim, associated with a seat belt change that i put in my 94 wagon, appears slightly more grey. I attributed it to the CAN pieces being more oxidized than the original USDM trim pieces but I could be wrong on that.
