Ignition stuck

Post by shemoves »

I had a '94 SS that I sold. I recently got a call from the guy who bought it. Apparently the ignition is stuck. The key can be pulled in and out, but the core does not turn. Is this a common problem and how might he go about fixing it?

He may just have to turn the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key. Sometimes the steering lock gets too much pressure on it from the column if the wheel is turn slightly when parked on a slope, etc.

That would be so funny if it was just the steering lockout. I didn't even think of it.
