The beauty of AWD

Post by BAC5.2 »

There is ice blanketing DC, and on the news, the "on-the-scene" weatherman was about 20 feet from the camera jumping on a patch of ice covered snow, going on and on and on about how dangerous the roads are, and how you should NOT try to drive over these large patches of ice because you could easily lose control or get stuck...

Then what happens?

An older Impreza Outback drives between him and the camera. The driver, smiling like an idiot.

"DO NOT DRIVE" as the Subaru easily putts past.

I've been hoping to see a news crew on some of the unplowed streets here, so I can go drifting by the van.

I'd like to drift by while waving. That always adds to the fun.

They had a guy on tv about a week ago during a real cold spell (-17 at 9am) say it wasn't all that bad. He said to dress appropriately, which is why he didn't mind the cold. Kinda made the reporter look salty.

"Not good for your car"

They weren't even going that fast!

I know I don't get what she is saying. I do that everytime I get snow here. I guess if you hit a curb it's not good for your car. :P
