WTB: Cheap winter wheels/tires

Post by shemoves »

Just looking for an inexpensive combo. I don't care what they look like, I just want them to be in good condition (don't care about cosmetic damage) and have decent tread. They need to be able to 'drive up to the mountain' and around in the snow easily.

PM Phil (BAC5.2) he had a nice set of blizzaks he was pedaling around for a while, not sure if he sold them.

Otherwise, I'd just get a spare set of wheels from a junkyard, and mount some Firestone Winterforce M+S tires. They're the cheapest snow tire you'll find and they work pretty well. Look at them on tirerack.com and you'll be impressed.
