well my clutch safety switch went the other night so i got screwing around under there.. spliced them together and it starts now... I had a check engine light an I plugged in this little green harness that apeared to fit toigether... so now its flashing (im asuming this is an engine code) it flashs 2 long.... then 2 short.... so Im guessing a 22?? anyone know what this code is??

You sure? 22 isn't a possible code for our car's atleast.

http://www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/

22 Ignition pulse system (1983 only)/Vehicle speed sensor or circuit or VLC solenoid valve or circuit. (1984 to 1988 carbureted)

Ok, well unplug your battery for about 1 hour, then it should clear the code, if not, then? I don't know :D

lol, you should fix taht abs though :D For me with my car if ANYTHING isn't perfect it bothers me, like right now ITS BOTHERING me! front left CV needs replacement, need to change ATf fluid, need to clean and detail car, need 2 new front fenders(rust) and repaint front and rear hatch and bumper, and a little bondo and front hood. I am going crazy :P

I want it lowered... its getting sprayed this spring... just a ton of stuff. dealing with it day by day.. I get my full on tuesday if I can pass... yea I got a 92 SS 5 speed at age 16 :D

I am not anal about things being perfect, but I HATE having a CEL on.

For me it's 35 - canister purge solenoid. The thing is a PITA to get to, otherwise I would have fixed it long ago.

Makes perfect sense... except that from my knowledge the kncok sensor retards timing as to compenate for different combustion errors ... in which "ping" would be produced... car runs great... no ping on hills... no ping any time... Ive had the thing at redline Ive never had it at WOT but damn near.... an it never ever has any problems... so I cant see the knock sensor being bad.... is there away a wire has bin knocked off or somthing lol. The only thing I notice is if u give the car a little shot of gas while on fast idle ( I know not a good idea but i never bring it past 3 grand when its warming up)... it will stay at whatever u rev it to for like about 1 second befor it drops back down.. just enough to notice that it has stuck there for a split second... never does this once warmed up

THe old style of knock sensors crack really really easily, theres a good chance it needs replacing. Both my Legacies needed the knock sensors replced.

Yep, all that stuff

and it doesnt even have to throw codes to do so.

No one should be selling the old style anymore, I believe they changed it in 96 or something
