Man that brings back memories of my RX. Does it run well with the spider intake? Ive heard nothing but horror stories from people trying to adapt the XT's spider intake to a EA82.
My RX had that intercooler on it, i had planned on doing a VF11 swap, but decided to buy a legacy instead. Have fun rebuilding that motor

Saab intercooler is almost a direct bolt in. Here's a pic of it installed on my RX:
I cant remember if the XT stored the spare under the hood, but if it did you will have plenty of room.

XT does not have the spare under the hood.
VF11's are indeed great for EA82Ts. If I were still considering an EA82T project, I'd use one too.

My XT has the "spider" intake also. I should just measure it and see how much room there is. Any chance someone has dimensions for the saab intercooler.

Yeah, you got the unicorn Mike (Fulltime 4WD XT Turbo). They're the only USDM car to get a turbo spider intake.

The spare sits on a vertical swing-arm rack in the trunk.

You shouldnt run into engine problems unless you boost the shit out of it. I ran 12psi for a week and threw a rod. Could have been from the lack of oil too... but the oil leak could have stemed from the increase in psi. Regardless, i replaced the stock 7.7:1 block with a stock 9.5:1 SPFI block and ran stock 7psi. Had more fun with high comp and 7psi than high psi and low comp.
