Subaru has always had pretty bland styling. '89-'94 Legacies might as well be an Accord/Stanza/Camry for the same years. The orginal '93 Impreza was kinda plain till we got the 2.5 RS. Actually it seems that most Japanese manufactures seem unwilling to take the same kind of styling chances American makers do. I guess Mazda is one notable exception. Nissan, of late, also.
Regardless of how it looks, I bet it drives fantastic. And the STI should actually match the EVOs handling now that we get a double wishbone suspension. Also the 3.6 H6 is now officially in the Subaru lineup and is a longshot for the STI. Remember, an EJ25 STI was a longshot in 2002 also.
'93 Winestone SS Auto, '91 Pearl White SS.
'93 Pure White SS EJ20G slanty intercooled, SIDESWIPED! In stasis.
'94 FWD and '95 AWD Laguna Blue SVXs.
2017 Pure Red BRZ Limited w/Performance pack
Now that I've seen actual press-release pictures...
... I might change my mind.
Yep, that's right. I might...
...
...
like it...
Is it a little bland? Yeah kinda. Does it look like a Corolla? In a way, not a good one. Am I afraid the car is going to be WAAAY too soft aesthetically? Yeah, a little.
But am I so very extremely glad the Edsel nose is gone? You better f'ing believe it!
Stand by. If you're really THAT interested in my opinion anyway
Why do car companies hire designers when this is the crap the committees end up letting out? I'd pay money NOT to drive one, but at least it's better looking than the hatch.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Ian
So they're targeting the Regis and Kelly crowd with the new WRX?
