I've had a few lucky scores at the Junkyards lately. It has come to my attention that if I'm gonna keep this up, I'm gonna need a truck.
A Baja would be cool, but that would put me back behind a few years of payments.
Actual Brats are rare in the Junkyards for spare parts to restore it and they won't take a EJ series engine without cutting.
So I was thinking about the possibility of making a "BRAT" from an EA82 series car. I know it would be ultra ghetto, but this is theroetical.
So...Wagon, 2-door hatch or (My person favorite) an XT?
Maybe a wagon with the door and door frames from a 2 door grafted in.
Or an XT6 with an EJ20. Then take the rear window/roof and move it forward to make it a 2 seater. Move the rear panels/tail lights back by 6-12 inches and take the now very enlarged trunk area as a bed.
Mods...Please move this if you prefer it in The Ashtray. Although it IS Subaru related.
If you were to make a B.R.A.T.

A GenI Brat will not take an EJ engine without cutting. A GenII Brat will.
If XTs interest you, go to www.xt6.net and peruse around. Huck369 (who is a lurker on this board) just finished an EG33 swap into his XT6 last summer.
