The slow frustrating build-up........

Post by dscoobydoo »

So we dropped off the Car at Rallitek right after Subiefest.

I figured it was time for the next upgrade; so they were going to do the PP6, 565 injectors, and tune it all.

This was almost a month ago.

It initially had some issues, so they did new wires and plugs.
Issues still there.
So they fixed a small knock issue.
Still problems.

Then I have them send me a graph of the dyno with the issues.
I get a few good opinions who tell me fuel and timing.
They tell me it is the turbo.
( this turbo was a low-mile JDM Td05-16G)

So I say- ok, you can pull the turbo and look.
They call me back and tell me- yup, it's the turbo. ( but they pulled it and looked and THEN DISASSEMBLED IT.)

At this point, turbo or not, I am now forced to get a new one.

It was running good at 8lbs, but started to have issues at 15 lbs.
I could have driven it at 8 for awhile and then saved for a new turbo, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

So I said F-C- it. ( i was going to go with the Super 16G later on anyway, I just get a major CC bill now.)

So hopefully, next week I should get it back.
Pray for me.
lol

Did they say what exactly was wrong with the turbo? send you pictures of the problem? since they've completely taken the turbo apart they should know and be able to send you pics of it.....

I am sooooo too late for pics Jake.
But when they are done, I am getting the old turbo parts back to look for myself.

Sound's like they don't really have their ducks in a row. They should have consulted you first before disassembling the turbo.

My thoughts also.
That is why I am not happy at the moment.
