ej22t vs ej22e

Post by mxpunk »

hi guys

im actually building a afi 1.8L impreza turbo and am using ej22t heads. i know the ej22e heads have bigger valves and will flow better. what i want to know is, will the ej22e heads really make that much of a difference in power compared to my ej22t ones?

i like the idea of the ej22t heads cause' they have all the plumbing for coolant and oil taken care of..

are the valves bigger? i didnt know that. use the turbo heads, your right the pluming is all there, plus the cams in the turbo heads will match the turbo better. welcome to the forum buddy

yes the n/a exhaust ports are bigger from what i hear, but just a tad. i believe they will both yield the same CR but im guessing the bigger exhaust valve will give me alittle bit better top end power

and after i get my 1.8 build going smoothly i want to take an ej22e deck and put in the legacy low comp. pistons and use either jdm ej20g heads or 98 RS DOHC ones :)

thanks for the welcome, im hoping there is some good stuff on here..nasioc is cool but the wrx infestation gets lame...

Same question, different way of asking it. Also search for my thread on the exact differences between the 2 heads when it comes to valve sizes and cams grinds and stuff. The info is readily available if you look for it.
