02-05 wrx brakes, worth buying?

Post by 253.Asmo »

Well brakes in my 91 ss need replacing, and i was looking at picking up some 02-05 wrx stuff in lieu of the 4pot/2pot's (lost a job, low on $$ ). Anyone run and like this setup?

I'm trying to find a decent set of calipers for pretty cheap and these I came across over on nasioc, unknown miles, says piston seals are intact, that they're just dirty, should I pick them up? They look more like something I would be taking off then putting on, or am I completely off?

I figgered.

Think I'm gonna save some $$ and just keep the stockers and get some decent rotors and pads for now.
'94 White SS / 5MT - daily, absolute piece of a beater

'90 Red Sedan - EJ22T / 5mt Swap - drove it, SOLD it

'91 black SS / 5MT - (215/230k miles. eng/body)
[RIP - drove, hit, cracked a piston, swapped and stripped for swap again]

I bought a full set of RS calipers and brackets for $35 awhile back. Just keep browsing the local nasioc classifieds.

Also why not keep the stock rears but go with 4-pots up front?

Bigger brakes and no bias change, plus you already have vented rear rotors.
