Where to buy parts - AGX/Whiteline...

Post by voodoochylde »

I'm very strongly considering AGX's from a 92-94 (according to TireRack) combined with some WhiteLine Control springs.

Is there a better/cheaper source for AGX's than TireRack?

Where could I get the proper WhiteLine springs for a 1990 Legacy AWD sedan? PDM-Racing sells Whiteline stuff and list springs for the 1990 but their range goes from "1990 - 1994"... :?:

I thought the 92 - 94 Legos had non-tapered rear springs?

If these springs from PDM are the non-tapered ones, will Group N rear topmounts work with them? If not, what do I need?

Thanks in advance for further putting up with my ever-increasing incessant questions :D

Read the Whiteline springs legend on PDM's page.

I got my front and rear tapered (90-91 style, 70368) Whitelines from PDM Racing. It took many months because PDM had to order them from Whiteline in Australia.
But after I put the springs on, there was more drop in the rear than the front. I assumed this was normal because the part numbers were correct.
Recently I heard that Whiteline sometimes incorrectly packages their products, so maybe I got a set of the lower Flatout springs for the rear. Confusingly, they came in Flatout boxes with Control part numbers on them.
It drives fine, just looks odd.

So if you get Whitelines, they may or may not be "proper" for your car.

EDIT: Group N tophats will work with tapered springs IF you get the correct ones.

I also got AGXs from CVR, no problems.

Thanks for the info - especially regarding the Group N top mounts. I wasn't sure if they worked with stock-style springs or not.

I'm assuming I'd be alright to order the 92-94 style springs with 92-94 AGX's and Group N top mounts? Hopefully ride-height won't change too much, though I know the Whiteline Control springs do lower some.

Whoa! I stand corrected, I thought STi only made them for non-tapered springs.

Where did you find Group Ns of that design?

I got my AGX's off ebay - can't remember the vendor but the price was very competitive and they shipped really quick...Good luck.

Oh, try PDM racing in Vancouver BC for whiteline springs. Kastle's corner might be able to get them too...
