wierd clunk/bumping sound from front struts

Post by klaxed »

Okay, here's the thing, I just finished installing kyb gr2 with whileline ground control springs with group N top hats. when I took it out for a drive (maybe 20 feet) and made a turn, I heard/felt a bump/clunk noise in the front, mainly the front right, with a little from the left but not so much. I jacked up the front right and checked the strut assembly, and the spring had moved about 3/4-1 from the place where it's supposed to sit. Did I assemble the strut improperly? Any ideas?

Edit: Well through a little research on the internets, I found out that I hadn't indexed my strut assemblys correctly in the front. Meaning I didn't have everything lined up properly. On the upper spring perch, there is the word OUT printed on the top of the perch, I rotated that out on both of the front struts and voila, like magic, the "popping" as it's called completely stopped. Man my car handles good now. Can't wait to see what a rear sway bar does. As is, there is almost no body roll right now. Will post pics when the weather gets nicer.
