.

To replace the MAF you would need to run a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor...not an air temp sensor...

Wrong, you need both.

It calculates fueling using a combination of manifold pressure (which already exists), air intake temperature, and RPM.

you need both like splinter siad, but wow ever one should get one just amazing how these thing work.

i was thinking its going to be crazy to make work and this and that, man i wired the air temp in and the vacum line and the thing runs perfect.

the only thing is our ecu caseing is diffrent, i had to cut the case a bit to make it work.

What air temp sensor did you use?

And do you have a pic of how you modified the casing? I have to do the same thing

No, I know it needs both, but Nico made it sound like he just needs air temp...which wouldn't work so well methinks :?

Yes...knew that too...since I tapped it for the load reference for the SMT6...

I was under the impression that the Autronic had a different MAP sensor

Nope :)

And in fact, you can use just about any MAP sensor with it, as long as you give it the specs on it

I've got the equation for the response curve too if anyone's interested.

The autronic MAP sensor is on the board. You just run a vacuum line to the box.

Maybe Nico is saying when he removed the MAF he lost the stock IAT sensor because it's part of the MAF, so he is using the one that comes with the Autronic instead.

The MAF sensor does not have a IAT sensor as part of it.

so now that you don't have an MAF, does that mean you could safely run a BOV?

Which board?

Post by kleinkid »

Looking at the Autronic website there are several boards for Subarus. I am thinking that the 94-96 WRX is the one to use for my '91SS Legacy. Which one do you have Nico?

What does the person tuning the car use to hook into the ECU with the Autronic board, and how and what do they use to make adjustments?

Do you need a separate FCD with the Autronic board, or is there a function in the Autronic that can do that?

94 96 wrx is the right one, the tuner uses a cable 9 pin conector that comes with the autronic then you plug it in to a laptop and tune.

the autronic is stand alone so there is no fcd no more, you can tell it what ever you want to do at this point.
