Here she is! My new ride. The clouds finally receded long enough for me to get some good pictures of teh car. 1991 Pearl White Turbo Legacy SS with 104k miles on her. An automatic, nontheless, she drives like a . . . like a . . . well. . . a Subaru! My hopes are to do a tranny swap soon (whatever your definition of 'soon' may be) so when I'm still laboring over putting the shifter all the way past neutral into drive in a couple of years, you guys'll be harpen on me and then I'll feel like an embarrassed idiot, so I'll finally do it.
Anyways. . . here she is. . . may the mouths be dropped!

'91, nice!
And Splinter takes the win with the first comment! I was wondering who it would be.

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

That is one clean SS.
I know how you feel aBout the slushbox. I just swapped my '91 SS to a manual, and it is 100x more fun.
I have grown quite fond of the white they used on these. I hadn't really seen it until I got my donor car and saw it in person, and I'm impressed.

The car wears good on you. A perfect match I'd
say. That has to be the Cleanest untouched SS!!
I've had lots of fun with the automatics. A tight rebuilt one will spool that turbo just right and keep pulling while you hang on saying will it ever stop pulling? It's a different experience than a manual and not a bad experience either!
Some easy mods that won't affect the purity of that stock sweety include de-snorkeling and adding a K/N air filter.

Well my rio red Legacy doesn't look as sexy when sitting in the forest. . . and it's pearl white, not a blahh white. When you look at this car, you can see every sparkle of color God created all in one spot, and the car just seems to shimmer right before your very eyes.
And it's a pristine, recently rebuilt transmission. . . why not let someone else enjoy it when I would much rather control the car with a manual tranny. Better gas mileage, and when I put the car into third gear, it's going to do exactly what I want it to do. . . not wait a second and then decide it wants to.
I'm an American. . . I want results now! haha

Thank you Mr. Moderator!
I've been driving my 5 speed around the last few days to show it's for sale and (though we haven't had the greatest past together) it was nice to get back to the stick. I find myself, when I'm stopping at lights in my '91, that I reach for the stick to downshift and realize I don't have to. . . it's just an odd feeling.

I get into automatics and try to jam down the clutch to start them. Always end up bumping my knee! hahaLaura wrote: hahahahha
