not sure where to begin on this.

i am going to be installing my "slant mount" TMIC onto my SS soon and i am wondering what i should do about making something to direct the limited airflow through the TMIC.

DIY Greg,

I haven't seen any other options with my V2 install

but then again, it's not my problem anymore since I just sold my car yesterday;)

Good luck

anyone have some tips on how to make one or some good terms to search for?

i would imagine that i would want to make some sort of plastic box that is open on the top and bottom.

the trick is how to make it and attatch it so that the hood still closes w/out catching on the TMIC.

I'd probably use rubber/poly sheeting like the stock one, so they're a little flexible

I had a couple splitters from V2 WRX hoods that I sold, I never tried to fit them to the Legacy since I run a FMIC but I think you could get it to fit (may require the holes to be redrilled).

Here's a link to an old ad, may-be it will give you some ideas.

Trust me, the version 2 inner hood scoops will not fit. I still have one and I tried a couple different ways to make it work.

The ej22t sits way too high for them to fit.

I am having to do a custom unit.

remove turbo hood, set aside.
get NA hood
cut hole in NA hood to fit WRX scoop
install the WRX splitter
put bag of ICE on tmic

but i am not using a standard WRX IC. it is the slanted version so a WRX splitter would not line up right.

i think i need to build my own spiltter out of cardboard and then have someone fab up a metal one based off of my cardboard mockup.
