What clutch?

Post by ChrisRT »

Here is my deal, I'm getting a 2.5 flywheel (from some? Subaru) and I need a clutch to mate to it.
As some of you may already know I'm throwing in an EJ205 with EJ22T heads and a VF11 turbo RUNNING AT STOCK PSI into a 94 Impreza 1.8L AWD.

I'm fairly mean on my transmission but I don't launch it. Since I'm running the above mentioned I expect only 150-190 HP (is this correct?) so can't I use a stock 2.5RS replacement clutch?

The Impreza 2.5RS is ~165 HP stock and their clutch holds fine.
I just don't want an agressive clutch and don't have the experience to try and relearn how to baby a clutch to not harm my transmission.

So will a stock 2.5RS clutch on my setup get me back to work and school for a good while without slippage or exploding?

Assuming your HP guess is correct, that clutch should hold up fine.

Are you using the trans from the 1.8L?

Yes, I'd be using the stock tranny for now. I just don't want it to break and with my current situation the stock 2.5RS replacements look good to me.
