whats fair price for a manual AWD tranny out of early legacy

Post by mellow65 »

I found one here local for $300 with 160k on it and he gives a guarantee not to be a POS. He has a shop that only does subarus and he parts them out too. i have dealt with him in the past and is a good guy.

i just don't know the market for them, so i ask the legacy guys.

thanks

I get them for like cheaper then that.. Are you looking for an N/a 5speed 4.11 Awd? I'll sell ya one for 100$ but then theres that me being in seattle problem. But maybe we could meet half way so I could get my seat and you could get your probe and stuff?

Well, they are $175 from U-Pull-it.... so for $125 of saving you the labor of actually having to get it, yeah, I would say its fair. You can always LATER find one cheaper, but how long do you want to wait?

what kind of miles on it. was that the old one you pulled out that was grinding or is this a different one.

I would be willing to meet part way and get you your seat back too.

have one with 215K, appears to be good, would like $500 for the ENTIRE drivetrain (Flywhell to hubs, might throw the motor in if you want it), minus the lt front and rt rear half shafts...

In Tacoma, could also meet part way after I pull everything out. Right now it's still in and running, if you want to hear it and check it out.

It was not grinding... True milage unknown but guy I bought it from said the car had 96k miles on it. It was in my touring wagon for about 7k miles or so? And the clutch on the car started to go bad so I did a turbo tranny setup. The tranny shifted great... In fact it shifted better then the 4.11 turbo tranny I have now :(. No gear noise no binding. Its spray painted primer grey for some reason?
