sorry for the long post, but please read
ok, so i just had this problem start today, its made the noise before, when running between 3000rpm and 4000rpm it would make a raoring noise, i just ignored it
today driving to my uncles to recharge my A/C, i noticed when kept at a constant speed it accellerate, then let off, then pull, the rpms would go up and down varing about 500rpm
on the way home, i started hearing a soft roaring noise coming from the rear end, it only last a few seconds and not any specific speed or rpms, it got louder and the rpms fluctuated more, and when they did it felt like the car was pulling right and when it did bog the motor it felt like something was holding the car back, it even kicked into passing mode a couple times trying to keep speed
the noise got more frequent and at times it drowned out all other noises
its definatley coming from the rear or center of the car, thats were its vibrating and the noise is
i almost was thinking that maybe the back right brake was catching and releasing, but that wouldnt explain the noise and vibration
so i made it home and i was looking around, the brakes werent even that warm, i tried to jack up one side and move the tire to see if it was a bearing, but it didnt budge at all, seems to be rolling fine as far as i can tell
the only thing out of the ordinary i saw was that my carrier bearing looked and felt like crap, unless its maybe all the way up in the tranny
any advice is apreaciated

Sounds a lot like what my car was doing right before my motor blew up.
Went out and did 130mph one night, and the next morning when I got it up to 80, bam. Wicked vibration that I felt pull back the car. I thought I blew a tire and had it towed.
All the tires were fine, so I drove it home. 70mph, and there it was again. Strong when I accellerated, and kinda went away under decel.
I was suspecting the carrier as well?
Does your problem seem to be accel or decel dependant?

sorry i never responded, didnt notice any new post
but its only accelerating
i know its long but please read
i had my driveshaft out of the car and ran it with a plug in the output shaft and the FWD fuse in for over a month, never had the problem again
a few weeks back i put it back in, just so i could stop the little bit of leaking A/T fluid and maybe better diagnose the problem, i started driving it much much easier, never got to 4krpms
but the other day i was riding with some friends, we were getting a little crazy, i flipped my DIY AWD switch on and wanted to see how it drove on roads, i went into a sharp s-turn and immediately very loud horrible roaring noise comes out from the car
i assume this is the clutch packs slipping, since i wasnt squealing any tires, and the car was understeering big time so i flipped it back off as soon as i could
ever since, under any acceleration when i hit 3k + rpms it roars like it used to, not very loud, not really vibrating, but it makes itself known
ive been thinking, maybe my clutch pack is slipping and making that noise all the time now, i also noticed that there is a rough spot in the u-joints , but i also noticed Autozone no longer carriers u-joints for my car, havent tried anywhere else yet though
but its only accelerating
