where is the ecu on my car

Hi
I know this is a really stupid question but where is the ecu localted on my 1991 turbo legacy?

'90 sedan was located driverside behind the dash, above the fuse block. , ASSUMING, but '91 T should be the same....

no thats the TCM transmission control computer i think there is one for the engine under the passanger side floor board or something for the engine 2 completely differnt ecu's

Tahiti is correct.
It is above the fusebox. The transmission is also there. The ECU is held in with 2 nuts accessed from the fusebox hole after you take off the lower dash panel.
The ECU will have 4 plugs.

Having just done a trans swap, I can say for 100% fact that it is tucked up behind the dash on the driver's side. It is actually just to the left of the TCU, and tucked away a little bit more.

yes. i can verify for a fact that that is where it is.
it's a bit tricky to get to.
you probably read a hayne's manual and that's why you think it's under the passenger side floorboard. it's definitely not. i tore up my car looking for it under there. don't listen to hayne's at all for our cars lol.

Its a b*** to get out... haha at least for me... or maybe i was just impatient so i ripped out the whole dash

Yeah. You have no patience. It really isn't that hard to get out once you pull the lower dash panel and fight with the wiring harness.
