How to properly strip an ej22t?

Okay... looks like I may be able to keep the ej22t I have been trying to sell, if I can strip the parts quickly by Saturday morning.

Besides the engine, accesories, sensors, harness, fuel pump, what else do I need to grab from the donor vehicle? someone mentioned that there is something in the trunk area I need to grab?

Any solid info, guidance is appreciated... I would love to be able to use this engine, now I just need to get it pulled, and make sure I have everything I need before I send the rest to the junkyard.

Don't forget the front crossmember, if your recipient is a non-turbo car. The Boost sensor and solinoid on the passenger strut tower are also easily forgotten.

Don't remember anything in the trunk. If your also doing a 4WD swap, then you'll need the fuel tank and vapor separator. Those are *near* the trunk.

If you have the storage room I would grab everything in the engine bay and weed out what you don't need later. It shouldn't take much longer than what your gonna put into it anyways.

The dash will need to come out to get the harness cleanly.

From your other post, If for some reason this can wait till next weekend I'll help. This Saturday my boys are having thier 7th B-day party.

Thanks for the info... in regards to the help, it is appreciated.

The problem is I have had it stored at my work, and my boss finally said "enough", and just last week I got notice from my Landlord about my vehicles at the house, so I do not think bringing home a partially stripped vehicle would help the situation...

But I will see... if it ends up getting moved temporarily, I will take you up on your offer to help! :)

Do you have a sawzall?

Cutting the crossmember out is faster than unbolting it, as well as easier.

Dropping the rear end is easier as well if you just cut the struts in half, versus unbolting them.

No sawzall... angle grinder?

I am not doing a 4wd conversion, so should I just leave the diff in and not grab it? This basically needs to be a smash and grab, because I am limited on time and manpower-- and the big one is the vehicle needs to be gone by 3pm...

so it is prioritizing what I need, followed by what "would be nice"...
